Weddings & Allsorts.

Posted by: Casey Rae-Hunter    Tags:      Posted date:  September 19, 2006  |  5 Comments

Last weekend was tremendously fun. We went to the coolest wedding ever, and ate a crapload of terrific food.

Highlights:

Arthur Adams’ funny and moving wedding song.

His band, Blammos, transformed into a lounge act for the procession.

Those same dudes pop-rocking at Radio Bean the night before.

James Kochalka cutting the rug with a bunch of tykes at the reception. I couldn’t decide who was having more fun, James or the kids!

Unrelated things to ponder:

Should I get the new, 80GB iPod to replace my 30GB? There are rumors about a touch-screen video version for the holidays…

Bjork reunites with the Sugarcubes! Who’s flying to Iceland?

The new Sunn O)) & Boris collaboration, Altar, is a monster. It’s even got Jesse Sykes on it!

Montpelier’s Eat More Kale dude gets musical. Courtesy False 45th and Norsehorse’s Home Turf.

First official Podcast due Monday.

Rumours may come and go, but this is always true: no matter what you choose to get, or when you choose to get it, a newer, cheaper version will ALWAYS be released a month after your purchase. So don’t be a slave, buy now!! I mean, uhh…

Rumours is an awesome album, especially the two-disc reissue.

Wedding was definatly great – the most fun, and funniest wedding i’ve ever been to… Darth Flowergirl?
the reception was quite nice as well, and i finally had a chance to properly introduce myself to the lovely bride and groom – the food was amazing! i counted 6 different Mac & Cheeses!

As far as Ipods go, i’d hold out till they come wifi enabled… touch screen, could end up more a pain than it’s worth, (though it’d look cool…so…) Neil is right though, always something more new, and more better next month.

and finally… jesse sykes + Boris… Tanner’s wet dream.

Wellll, if you get an 80G, you could re-rip your entire music selection at a higher bit rate, so better sound quality, yada yada. I personally can’t hear a difference above 128, so I don’t care, but I find people who are musicians tend to have a more sensitive ear.

But, I’d REALLY stay away from the first generation of touch screens. First of all, it just seems like a dumb idea because touch screens usually don’t last as long. I mean, maybe they came up with something absolutely bril, but I’d still wait until at LEAST the 2nd Gen of touch screens.

I, myself, am eagerly awaiting my free Nano that I got because I opened a bank account at Key. It’s a WHOPPING ONE GIG. Snarf. Whatever, it’s free.

Also, I’ve always wanted to go to Reykjavik. Like badly. Mostly because it’s just so durned fun to say. Let’s get a group tour going! We can charter a plane and stalk Bjork!

Turns out I can’t afford any of it — at least not this month. Oh, well. It’s not like my 30G Pod isn’t fine for now. I just wanted to give the old one to my Brooke when I got the 80.

Soon.

Yeah, I dunno what’s up with the touch-screen vid version. I don’t watch anything on the iPod anyway, so who cares?

Reykjavik Airlines has the world’s finest flight attendants, or so I’ve heard… I’m calling the travel agent.
