This letter is in response to your current campaign song contest.
While you’ve got some solid choices on your website, we feel this whole song selection thing really calls for a look at the two groups of voters you’ll need if you’re going to win the Democratic nomination: soccer moms and the youth vote. (You’ll need the Mexicans too, but we don’t think music is the way to their hearts.)
Since soccer moms are generally wary of black people, we figure you’ve got that vote in the bag. Which brings us to the youth vote, which, frankly, you don’t have yet.
This song has no swear words and as you can tell from the video, the young people are really "getting into it", as they say. Also, this song is easy to clap along to when you’re rallying the kids from the stage. Nothing is worse than a politician who can’t clap to the beat of their own campaign song.
We think choosing this song will take the spotlight off Obama, that semi-foreigner, and really put you over the top with the young people. It’s a win-win.
Anyway, hope you’re having fun on the campaign trail, and we’ll see you out there soon, hopefully clapping along to our pick.
