Buddhism has some fairy tales in it, but it’s prescriptions and disciplines are hardly make-believe. Of course, it might not even be a religion. Or “true,” for that matter. [Giggle.]

Thanks to Murf from False 45th for this gem of an article: “Businesses Owners, Customers Upset Over Controversial Billboard.” But the rest of us just have deal with your ubiquitous “Christian” propaganda.

Hey, WE GOT OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!

The Lord does move in mysterious ways!

I wish I had tons of money to blow on subversive shit like that. Although, it sounds like it was a rogue midnight billboard hijacking.

Congratulations on the domicile! I knew my prayers to Jesus re: your house would be answered.

ben

congrats on the house. chinese babies are soooo 2000
African babies are what’s happenin’today.

Murf

Glad you like it.

I’m as confused about religion as anybody but I love things like this billboard because when I see how people react to it, it gives me a clear sense of whether I should ever consider living there or not.

Orlando…off the list.

Neil

On the reals, what’s wrong with believing in a fairy tale? I mean, if there’s a message in the story that inspires kindness and allows people to live a better life, mazel tov (sorry, Hitchens). It doesn’t matter if it’s actually true or not. I believe that there are enlightened pracitioners of every religion that would agree. It’s once you start believing that these tales are actually TRUE, *then* you get the kind of madness shown the film in that earlier posting… sheesh.

Neil

BTW, congrats on the house!!

casey

Neil, I think that’s about right. But it’s important to keep in mind that when given a choice between a fact and a superstition, people will almost always choose the superstition. . .
