Today is an odd day. There’s something in the air. Gremlins are afoot. You can practically feel the Ineffable Awful dancing on the edges of your senses. This day is pure folly, and hardly jolly.
But let’s look on the bright side. It’s another Primary! Today’s double-header in Oregon and Kentucky should give Barack Obama an unassailable lead in pledged delegates. The supers keep on pouring in, and this CNN article claims that Barry is once again eating into Hillary Clinton‘s key demographics.
"Obama leads or ties Clinton among women, Easterners, whites, adults
with no college education, and Hispanics, with the New York senator’s
support now below 50 percent in each group, according to Gallup. Both
are backed by 47 percent of white voters surveyed, and Obama is

Who’s left in her base? I’m not gonna say it again. And let’s also not talk about the sudden reappearance of the Hillary drawl (have you ever noticed that she speaks really slowly when campaigning in Appalachia?), or her oft-repeated statement that "if we we’re Republicans, I would already be the nominee." And let’s skip her gleeful reference to Karl Rove’s "math," the adoption of which would supposedly give her the prize she so desperately craves. And we shan’t carry on about her claims to a popular vote that doesn’t exist unless you dismiss all of the caucus states and count Michigan, where her opponent wasn’t even on the ballot. We’re not gonna go there today. We feel rotten enough as it is.
Which brings us to a bit of bad news. Teddy Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor. TK is the lion of liberalism, a man who has served Massachusetts with distinction, candor and humor since 1962. Chappaquiddick aside, it’s been a good run. Certainly longer than his brothers. Sigh.
In other news, we’re going to Home Depot tonight to buy paint for our new house. We close on Friday. Please keep the gremlins away from that deal.
