Brooke and I are spending our last day in San Jose before heading up to San Francisco. It’s been OK so far, but we’ve been on the "business" side of our trip, so there hasn’t been a ton of time to run free. But today, we’re going to the Winchester Mystery House!
Last night, we had dinner with a high-level official from Facebook and his wife. I’m not going to name-drop him, in case he has a Google alert set up for himself. I wouldn’t want him to know that we had an absolutely wonderful time — on Facebook’s dime, no less. His wife was adorably hilarious; maybe someday we can hang out with them again. . .
We swung through Stanford University, but I had to get out of there pretty quickly, ‘cos it makes me twitchy to be around so many smarter, younger and wealthier people. I’m a self-made man with what may be an inappropriate disdain for academia. In another time and place, I’d have taken power in a military coup and converted the learning institutions into factories that made tiny statues of me.
Here are some random pics of SJ:

A nice building.
Enough with the damn church, already!
