I finally completed my new record, Northern Lights. I was waiting on one last song to come through the aether, and it finally arrived, fully formed. Mixing and mastering is complete (it sounds as good as it ever will), and now it’s just a matter of figuring out the release scheme.
Since I don’t play live anymore, I really have little interest in shopping it around. I’m fairly certain someone might be interested, but labels aren’t usually keen on signing up one-man-band/writer/performer/arranger/producers with an utter disdain for the road. So I’ll likely just release it myself. (I’ll probably hit up some people I know who have labels, just for fun, but whatevs).
I had planned on a digital-only release, but may do a short run of CDs. Jay of Solah has been working on cover designs, but I had only given him marching orders for front cover. I may do a combo of my soon-to-be cousin-in law‘s illustrations and Jay’s mad digital work. Speaking, of. . . Jay, would it be kosher to post some of the image files you sent here and have people vote on the best cover?
Anyway, here’s the brand new cut:
