Here I am in the non-profit tent at Chicago’s Union Park watching it rain. At least it’s not as sweltering as predicted.
Just caught Mission of Burma’s sound check. It was OK. Gonna be a long weekend yet.
Had a blast hanging out with Hank Shocklee — member of the Bomb Squad and production mastermind behind Public Enemy’s finest efforts. Hank is a talker, and we really got going on the philosophy of sound, from analog bleed to the treble gremlins that live inside the 1s and 0s. I think he had fun, too, but we kinda got lost in our own little ADD world to the expense of conversation with the rest our party.
I’m bummed that my blog app for the iPhone doesn’t let me put in links. Also, I can’t bold or italicize text, so all my style conventions go put the window. And that’s what really hurts.
