I’m in love.
Fred Phelps, pastor of Topeka-based Westboro Baptist Cabal, has made my year. I’ve been aware of this dude’s unbridled zeal for some time, as his penchant for good old-fashioned funeral picketing has been well reported. Lately, however, I’ve been paying closer attention to this gentle, mild-mannered Man of God.
To me, there’s nothing funnier than a bona fide Christian pastor declaring the fiery damnation of Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Bill O’Reilly, George W. and other so-called “fag-enablers.” Phelps is often labeled “crazy” or “fanatical,” but that’s not really fair. After all, he’s got the Holy Scriptures on his side, and his interpretations of the Good Book are as valid as anyone’s. And watching him out-zeal those tykes at Fox News is pure bliss.
Alright, all I really wanted to show you was this excellent eulogy Phelps gave for George Carlin:
Oh, and according to Phelps, John Stewart and his “hooligan-sidekick” Stephen Colbert will also share a spot in Hell for as a punishment for their constant mocking and scoffing. As the pastor says, “Faith is the victory, oh glorious victory, that overcomes the world.” Amen.

I’ve started replying to every Nigerian bank scam email I get with the Phelps’ names and contact information.
