I used to work with the band when they (Gav, Kenny and Tracyanne) were still putting up posters for a distribution company in Glasgow and have always been delighted to see them succeeding. I'd heard the Springsteen cover on a Radio Session here in Scotland a few weeks back and was blown away by it. A thing of rare and tender beauty, the cleverness and contradiction of which you capture perfectly here. What a beautifully written post. The new Camera Obscura is soooo fine. 2. I should probably get out more. 3. Although the rest of the internets seems to be plunging into an editorial Dark Age, the quality writing here continues to impress (my own posts excluded). Great stuff.
