The Contrarian

Following frustrating weeks, I am finally back online. I have multiple posts in preparation, and you will hear more from me soon. However, while we at The Contrarian don’t tend to linger on personal issues, I feel the need to address certain rumors going around about myself and Dr. Agamemnon Cox. Casual site readers should feel free to skip this post, but those who are friendly with the Doctor or myself may wish to read the following:

• Yes, I lived for a few weeks with Dr. Cox, who I have known since I was a boy, and is like a grandfather to me.
• Yes, Dr. Cox and I had an argument, and I am no longer staying in his lodgings.
• We have since resolved our differences, and are currently working together on editing audio recordings of our conversations for upcoming posts.
• Yes, the doctor did give me a black eye. I’m not proud of that, but my devotion to the cause of truth leads me to willingly admit to the occurrence.
• NO, I DID NOT HIT HIM BACK. He’s more than three times my age! Plus, I’m a yogi, not a fighter.
• No, the fight was not over a woman. Again, the doctor’s more than three times my age (though he does still have better luck with the ladies, much to my shame).
• The fight, to clear up the rumors, was actually over varying interpretations of the written description of the circle, square and triangle as the symbol of the Philosopher’s Stone. Perhaps not as dramatic as some of the things I’ve heard, but the truth nonetheless…
• Yes, I am now living in a garage. But I have my own pond, with herons and giant snapping turtles. And I pay no rent.
• Yes, Casey probably will have me whipped for starting sentences in that previous point with both ‘and’ and ‘but.’

I’m glad we cleared that up. Back to work.
