Right, because there are really only two viewpoints on the creation of mankind: christianity/creationists and science/evolutionists. And I’m sorry, but every creationist should take a class in genetics: we are all made up of DNA, you can see it under a microscope. DNA has four biochemical building blocks: adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine. They are a code: ACGTGATC….., that code is a recipe for protein production, those proteins create life. Whoops! John Doe’s code is messed up and he can’t produce melanin, well, he’s an albino, and guess what? you can’t change his code and so his kids are all going to have the same code as him and they’ll be albino too. Hmm, wonder if his grandkids and greatgrandkids might have a chance at getting his messed up code? Maybe they’ll be albino as well? Well, there you have it, fucking evolution, you can see it with your own eyes. I frankly didn’t subscribe to any sort of higher power until I took that genetics class (oh all my catholic school nuns are rolling in their graves, and FYI: my potential higher power doesn’t have a name OR a religion). But let me tell you, genetics is pretty damn awe inspiring, and perhaps Ancient Egyptians’ Atum, who manifested from primordial waters only to masturbate away his loneliness had something to do with it. He seems like an interesting guy. A hell of a lot more interesting than Kirk “the only thing I did with my life was Growing Pains” Cameron.

I second Mesuba! What Christians don’t get is that if you teach Christian creation myth in schools, then you should teach Jewish and Muslim and Hindu and Buddhist creation myths as well as those of past religions. Christians are so often too ignorant to even realize that they’re being bigoted.
Of course, I’m actually a big supporter of religion classes in school–classes that teach the factual history of religions; when they began, who began them, what their teachings are, etc. But I guarantee you that most Christians would have a problem with that too.
I think maybe he really works for an anti fundamentalist group, this video makes Christians look so bad, does he not realize it is so very dumb?
When did “christianity” become so hateful. We’ve always known that the uneducated masses are drawn to it, because it ostensibly provides simplistic answers to explicate complex phenomena. So much easier to say “god” created the heavens, rather than open your mind and actually learn anything proven by science. The lure of fairy tales and prehistoric rituals are very powerful for the mentally challenged. Regardless, when did HATE enter the picture. Is it because the repugnicant party co-opted evangelical misguided mantra back in the 1970′s? Or when talk radio exploited anyone who was not a white male straight rich christian for their own greedy gain? Or was it when a washed up ex-child television star became so desperate to grab the spotlight back, he would say anything, no matter how pernicious, misinformed, and hateful, to spend another moment in the theatrical sun. What we have ended up with are un-christians parading around as real “christians,” so full of moral indignation and their own ego, that fact and fiction is blurred. Such ex-child stars should go back to the eighties where they belong, and pre-historic rituals and fables should dragged back to the dark ages from where they emerged. Until that happens, the rest of us can not evolve.
