As previously mentioned, I’ve been guest-blogging over at Sentient Developments throughout October. While not quite as geektastic as a Marvel/DC universe crossover, it’s still pretty damn exciting. Well, for me, anyway — SentDev is one of my fave sites on the interwebs, and unlike much of the stuff you find online, I credit it with actually making me smarter.
I figured I’d give you a quick rundown of what I’ve posted so far, along with a couple of “inspired by” entries from SentDev proprietor and eminent Canadian, George Dvorsky.
- I’m really fond of the last article I wrote about Perimeter (a.k.a. “Dead Hand”) — a Soviet doomsday system that, in the words of Emperor Palpatine, remains. . . “fully operational.”
“And Now, for Something Completely Different: Doomsday!“
- I’ve also been writing about the twin concepts of neurodiversity and cognitive liberty, which is a sticky wicket, indeed. (There is also a somewhat more personal reason that I’m interested in these issues.)
“Neurodiversity v. Cognitive Liberty“
- George’s reply post was definitely cool.
“Limits to the Biolibertarian Impulse“
- Since I’m a glutton for punishment (and I learn by articulating and re-articulating), I gave it another go.
“Neurodiversity vs. Cognitive Liberty, Round II“
- Which probably got George thinking a bit more (he’s terribly good at that).
“Cognitive Liberty and the Right to One’s Mind“
I suppose I should find another topic at this point. I mean, the doomsday thing was cool, but I don’t want to wear out my welcome. Any suggestions?
