And you thought we were done with these lists, didn’t you? Not hardly.

Today’s “best of the decade” music roundup is courtesy Walter McDonough, Esq. — co-founder of Future of Music Coalition and an incredibly bright bulb in matters of law and the musical arts. You can see a portion of his CV here. Walter also has one of the greatest Boston accents known to man, and I sometimes find myself saying things in my head (and occasionally out loud) in a “Walter voice.” I think the next time I see him I’m gonna have him record my voicemail message.

Anyway, here’s Walter’s list, sans editorial. He’s a busy man, and we’re perfectly honored to have his participation.

Picks after the jump…

—————————————-

The XX, The XX

Nick Cave, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus

Arcade Fire, Funeral

Raekwon, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt. II

Rancid, Indestructible
[Ed's note: not available to stream; how punk (or not) is that?]

Radiohead, Hail to the Thief

Mastodon, Crack the Skye

U2, All That You Can’t Leave Behind

Gaslight Anthem, The ’59 Sound

Outkast, Stankonia

Wow. An entirely different list from mine. “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” did almost make the cut for me. But then, mine was not an attempt to compile a list that was objectively “the best” for the decade, but rather the ten albums that influenced me most (emotionally and otherwise) during the decade.
