Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney caused an uproar among supporters and opposition alike earlier today by naming male caucasian Paul Ryan as his running mate. Few political experts had predicted such a move, with much of the talk surrounding more traditional candidates such as bisexual Korean comedian Margaret Cho or leftist rapper Chuck D.
Folk singer and political commentator Bob Dylan had this to say: “It’s a real surprise for all of us. Romney has a history of surprising moves, but this really came out of left field. A white woman, sure I could see that, especially if she was openly in support of abortion and worker’s rights. But a white guy, man, I just wasn’t prepared for that.”
Romney’s bold move has people wondering whether he will continue his “road less travelled” approach, engaging in previously unexpected techniques such as attacking incumbent president Barack Obama‘s track record or spending money on television advertisements.
At this point, only time will tell.
