Glitter and Doom!!!! Tom Waits Tour Official Monday!!!!!
FINALLY. Anti Records has announced that Tom Waits will hold a press conference Monday, May 5th, at 9am where he will reportedly announce a 2008 tour titled "Glitter and Doom". The press conference will be viewable at tomwaits.com, his long-dormant site that's set to launch Monday.

If you're a Waits fanatic like myself, you've been scouring, digging, cursing and throwing fits trying to find details on the tour rumor ever since that evil magazine Rolling Stone three months ago printed a blurb that a tour was being planned. David Fricke is a jerk.
I'm already packing my survival kit for ticket camping out. Maybe I should buy a pistol. At the very least I'll need to sharpen a stick at both ends. . .

Glad to hear there's another Waits fan out there--it seems like their some kind of irrational Waits backlash from every musician hipster in Burlington. I don't know how you can have a soul & not be moved by the rawness & nostalgia of a song like "Tom Traubert's Blues".

Waits, for me, is one of those guys that, as a hipster music snob, I know I'm supposed to like, but have never come close to enjoying. I just don't get him. Same thing with Iron and Wine. Like, try a melody for once...

Kimmet, please. For anyone reading, this opinion is from a guy who didn't even like Iron Maiden when we were in middle school. And everyone knows that Maiden are AWESOME. I mean shit, I've got "Two Minutes to Midnight" on my iPod and I listen to it at least once a week.
